The University of North Texas Founded in 1890, the University of North Texas is an emerging research university with a legacy of excellence and a global reach that has made it one of the nation's 50 largest public universities in the U.S. As Dallas-Fort Worth's leading university, UNT drives America's fourth-largest metropolitan area, which has the nation's sixth-largest economy and is home to many of America’s fastest-growing cities.
